Genesis is a bold, beautiful and brave 10 year old who is one of our 266 mercy kids in Nicaragua. Meet this joyful soul in the extremely cute video on the right as she learns to make side blown flutes on day one and two. What a privilege to have her for 7 months as she was under medical care for a malformation on her lip. Her 8 medical procedures went very well. And after 10 years of hardship, she retuned to Nicaragua totally well! The last pictures at the bottom show her healed. All sales from Genesis Flutes help Genesis with her needs back in Nicaragua. The Genesis flutes have all been tweaked by Erik the flutemaker into very nice flutes.
1) The Major Flute is good to play tunes in Major, Minor and Pentatonic. Comes with a lesson and song sheet. $25
2) The Minor Flute sounds like the renaissance times are very creative and good for improvisation. $25
3) The Bird Flute is fun. This is the small instrument I play in the Spiel Video at 4:52. If you want one, let us know if you have a skinny medium or fat finger in the comment box at Check Out. $5
Songs 1 and 3 are with a major scale and song 2 is with the minor scale. The present Major Scale Genesis Flute can be heard at 1:02 on the Spiel Video .
All Genesis flutes and flute-bags have Genesis art. They are also bound with strong beeswaxed thread for protection. Genesis Flutes are signed by Genesis. Get one while they last!
Genesis made some Calypso Flutes and some Small Majors, which are a bit higher in pitch.
Please note: As this is a fund raiser, Genesis Flutes will not be able to be retuned for a refund.
And if you are buying from overseas you will have a customs charge too.
Thanks for considering another flute that will help to touch the world.
More on Genesis: A story of 6 blessings...
While on a mission trip in Nicaragua I met a most fascinating human being who fast became a dear friend. Genesis is now 11 years old and is one of Flutemaker Ministries Mercy Kids needing medical treatment and receiving food from us. She is so special everyone likes her. Things were tough for her back home as no help was coming from the medical field to deal with a network of veins in her face causing a malformation on her lip.
One day while visiting Mercy Kids, I stopped by with my flutes and puppet Lulu and Genesis and I had the greatest time together. A few days later I heard that their stove was stolen and I returned with our team to bring her one. See the pictures on the right that captured this.
One day when Keylin, Genesis' mom, took her to an appointment far away in Managua, there was no room inside the government shelter. Keylin kept the mosquitos away from Genesis as she slept on her lap out side under an overhang. But by 3 am, weary Keylin fell asleep. She dreamed she stood up in a church service and declared in a loud voice, "I will no longer come to find healing for my daughter by bus. I will come by plane."
Blessing #1: A wonderful opportunity opened for Genesis and her mother Keylin to fly to the USA for medical treatment.
Blessing #2: While here, I showed Genesis how to make flutes. Under my supervision these are collectable flutes called Genesis Flutes. We donate all the proceeds to help her back in Nicaragua.
Blessing #3: When I realized this family bathed out of a bucket because they were so poor, that their front door was bad, their pila where they washed their dishes and clothes leaked, their roof rafters were rotten with termites, and the adobe walls were cracked and would not support a new roof, that they all slept in one room and shared a latrine with their neighbor, it looked like my next mercy house project. So while mom and daughter were here for 7 months with the medical mission, some of my customers and others who support our work in Nicaragua began to help build their new home. Proceeds from Genesis flutes also helped in the construction.
Blessing #4: We also hired Levi, Genesis' dad, to work for A Heart To Love Foundation whom we support. He is a painter who was out of work. He continues to paint our mercy homes and is learning to do many other things.
Blessing #5: The 5th blessing for this family has been hiring a seamstress to teach Keylin, Genesis' mom, how to sew. When she returns she can have a micro-business to help break them out of poverty. She retuned with 2 sewing machines.
Blessing #6: Genesis has learned how to swim. Which can save a kid's life.
Medical update: Mission Accomplished! Genesis had 8 procedures in 7 months and is now well. She was released from medical care in the USA on November 7, 2018. We flew them home November 14h.
Enjoy the video on this page. Genesis puts the cute into flutemaking.
