These back packs and bags are made by designer Deybin Estrada, who was taught to sew by Max the tailor at our children's home. On Saturdays Deybin is studying to be an electrician. Aside from sewing, he rides the ministry motorcycle out to some of 199 disabled children of their Mercy Ministry and to some of their 52 Feeding Centers to check up on them and make deliveries. This sweet spirited young man also sews many of my flute bags. Deybin was one of the original Kids of Cascabel who was rescued from a garbage dump outside Somoto, in northern Nicaragua.
Another sower of these bags is Norma Garcia, one of our single, mercy mothers, whose daughter is Meyling, who has cerebral palsy. This family was struggling and needed a home. We built Norma and Meyling a house and provided her with a sewing machine and now Norma can support her family.
With the sale of these bags we pay the sower, buy more cloth, eventually buy another sewing machine and buy food for 10 elderly in need in the mountains including a blind lady and her blind daughter.
Pictures: See Deybin growing up and becoming a sower. See him visiting the kids of our mercy ministry. See him packing beans grown on their farm to give to the mercy ministry. And see Norma and Meyling and their new home.
Please let me know the number of the bag you would like in the message area at check out.
